Milla Jovovich Biography
Milla Jovovich (Milica Natasha Jovovic) born on 17 December 1975 in Kiev, Ukraine to Bogic Jovovic and Galina Loginova Jovovic. Her father Bogic was a Serbian Yugoslavian doctor and mother Galina was a Russian stage actress.
When Milla was 5, Jovovich family moved to Sacramento, CA. Later after seven months they settled in Los Angeles, California. At the age of 11, Jovovich started to do professional modeling. She was first attended by the photographer Richard Avedon, who led her to Revlon's "Most Unforgettable Women in the World" advertisements. She had modeled for several products and magazine covers. While the cover of the Italian fashion magazine "Lei" was her first cover shoot, which she did in October 1987.
Milla turned to acting in 1988 and made her film debut with romance thriller "Two Moon Junction". In 1991 Milla was next starred in the romance adventure sequel "Return to the Blue Lagoon" with Brian Krause. By this film she was compared with child model-turned-actress Brooke Shields. Her next film was Richard Linklater's "Dazed and Confused (1993)". Most of her 1990's films are in supporting roles.
In 1994 Milla turned to singing and released her first album "The Divine Comedy". Which received good reviews. Also worked as lead singer for band "Plastic Has Memory". Milla returned again to acting by entering into the world of action heroes and did films "Fifth Element" (1997) and two films based on the survival horror series, "Resident Evil".
In 2004, Milla's vocals appeared on album "Legion of Boom". Also recorded the single "Rocket Collecting" which appeared in film "Underworld". She was the highest paid supermodel in 2004. Milla worked as international spokes model for "L'Oreal cosmetics". In 13 September 2005 Jovovich and a fellow model Carmen Hawk opened a clothing line "Jovovich-Hawk" in New York City's Greenwich Village. In 2006, Milla was selected by a Spanish clothing line "Mango" as their spokes model.
In 2006, her projects include a science fiction/action thriller "Ultraviolet", which was released on March 3, 2006. While her next project is the third film which is the survival horror series, Resident Evil. Jovovich is now planning to publish her private diary as an autobiography, which is included her experiences in Hollywood and in modeling world.
